## Discrepancy

HAD AN AIR RETURN FLIGHT, IN GENEVA, WITH CUSTOMER UNITED. THE AIRCRAFT FLIGHT NUMBER UA957. AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED AN ABNORMAL INCREASE IN ENGINE 1 OIL PRESSURE, ACCOMPANIED BY ABNORMAL ENGINE NOISE, A BURNING ODOR, & SMOKE IN THE CABIN. THE FLIGHT CREW SUBSEQUENTLY SHUTDOWN ENGINE 1 & CARRIED OUT AN EMERGENCY LANDING. ONLY A TRANSIT CHECK WAS PERFORMED AT GVA, AND NO ENGINE OIL SERVICING WAS CARRIED OUT. DUE TO AN OVERWEIGHT LANDING WITH MORE THAN 30 TONNES OF FUEL ON BOARD, THE FUSE PLUGS ON WHEELS 1 AND 2 MELTED AFTER PARKING BECAUSE OF THE HIGH BRAKE TEMPERATURE. METALLIC PARTS FOUND ON CHEAP DETECTOR OF ENGINE 1.
