## Discrepancy

DURING PREFLIGHT, ONE OF OUR PILOTS FOUND A BROKEN ELEVATOR TRIM CABLE. IT BROKE UP FRONT NEAR THE FIREWALL RIGHT AROUND WHERE THE CABLE GOES THROUGH THE PULLEYS AND THEN ENTERS / EXITS THE CABLE SHEATHING. IT APPEARS THE SHEATHING WAS PULLED DUE TO AN ADEL CLAMP, CAUSING A SHARP TURN (NO RADIUS) IN THE SHEATHING RIGHT AFTER THE METAL PORTION ENDS. IT IS OUR ASSUMPTION THAT THIS WAS LIKE THIS SINCE THE FACTORY. THIS RUB LIKELY CAUSED CABLE WEAR AND EVENTUALLY FAILURE.
