## Discrepancy

AIRCRAFT WAS BROUGHT INTO ACE AVIATION FOR ANNUAL INSPECTION. 14857-002, 14857-001 ARE THE TWO PARTS FOR RH AND LH TORQUE TUBE WELDMENTS. THESE ARE ATTACHED TO THE BRAKE PEDALS ON BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE OF THE CABIN FLOOR AND WERE DISCOVERED TO HAVE EXCESSIVE FLEX (THEY ARE NORMALLY WELDED IN PLACE AND DO NOT FLEX AT ALL). THIS BRINGS UP CONCERNS ABOUT POTENTIAL FRETTING FOR THE FUTURE. AIRCRAFT WAS ASSEMBLED WITH THESE PARTS THAT WERE MISSING WELDS ON THE TOP OF THE TORQUE TUBE. APPARENTLY IT'S A RARE DEFECT BUT CIRRUS STATES THAT IT IS AN AIRWORTHY PART AND IS PROVIDING AN ENGINEERING LETTER TO THAT DEGREE THAT IT HAS BEEN TESTED IN CIRRUS' SHOP AND IS AIRWORTHY, HOWEVER IT IS A DISCREPANCY BECAUSE THE TOP OF THE TUBES WERE SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN WELDED. I WAS ADVISED TO LOG THIS AS A DISCREPANCY AND FILE THE SDRS REPORT.
