ELT BATTERY ARTEX WAS FOUND CRACKED ON LOWER SIDE UPON DISASSEMBLY OF ELT.  BATTERY EXPIRATION DATE IS JANUARY '96.  ELT EXHIBITED CORROSION DAMAGE TO LOWER CIRCUIT BOARD AND WAS INOPERATIVE.
