THE SUSPECT CAUSE FOR THE CRACK IS INCORRECT SHIMMING OF THE ALTERNATOR TO THE MOUNT. SUBMITTER STATED CLOSE ATTENTION NEEDS TO BE GIVEN TO THE CORRECT SHIMMING OF THE ALTERNATOR WHEN IT IS INSTALLED.
