## Discrepancy

UPON ROUTINE EMERGENCY FLOAT SYSTEM 6 MONTH/500 HOUR INSPECTION, THE SKID TUBE WAS FOUND CRACKED IN THREE PLACES. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION OF TUBE, THE CRACKS APPEAR TO ORIGINATE FROM THE INSERTS DUE TO IMPROPER INSTALLATION OR HOLE PREPARATION RATHER THAN DAMAGE FROM LANDING OR DEBRIS. TUBE SN 702 WAS NOT CRACKED, BUT WAS ALSO CONDEMNED DUE TO UNREPAIRABLE CORROSION. BOTH PARTS WERE RECEIVED PRIMED, PAINTED, AND READY TO INSTALL INCLUDING MANUFACTURER SUPPLIED/PRE-INSTALLED SKID SHOES. BOTH TUBES RETURNED TO AERO ACCESSORIES FOR EVALUATION 10-29-96.
