AT FL220, CABIN BEGAN TO CLIMB AT 1500 FPM, CREW DONNED OXYGEN MASKS.  EMEREGNCY DECLARED AND DIVERTED TO ORD, WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.  REMOVED AND REPLACED CABIN PRESSURE CONTROLLER, CHECKED SYSTEM AND GOOD.  (M)
