MCI - INFLIGHT STL-LAX.  CREW REPORTED AUXILIARY POWER UNIT FAILED WITH RIGHT GENERATOR ON PLACARD.  EMERGENCY DECLARED FLIGHT DIVERTED MCI LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT.  AIRCRAFT REMOVED FROM SERVICE.  REPLACED AUXILIARY POWER UNIT.  SYSTEM GROUND CHECK NORMAL OPERATION.
