BOS - CREW REPORTED AFTER TAKEOFF RECEIVED GEAR UNSAFE LIGHT.  EMERGENCY DECLARED FLIGHT RETURNED BOS LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT.  AIRCRAFT REMOVED FROM SERVICE.  REPLACED LANDING MONITOR MODULE M983.  SYSTEM GROUND CHECK NORMAL OPERATION.
