LHR - INFLIGHT CDG-JFK.  CREW REPORTED CENTER INERTIAL REFERENCE UNIT FAILED.  EMERGENCY DECLARED FLIGHT DIVERTED LHR LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT.  AIRCRAFT REMOVED FROM SERVICE.  REPLACED CENTER IRU.  SYSTEM GROUND CHECK NORMAL OPERATION.
