PUNGENT ODOR AFTER TAKEOFF AND DURING DECENT,  FA REPORTED IN MID CABIN AREA WAS STRONGEST. AIRCRAFT WAS GROUNDED.  REPLACED MAIN HEAT EXCHANGER.
