PUNGENT ODOR AFTER TAKEOFF & DURING ON DESCENT.  FA REPORTED IN MID CABIN AREA WAS A STRONGER ODOR SIMILAR TO PNEU. AIRCRAFT WAS GROUNDED. REPLACED AIR CYCLE MACHINE.
