AIRCRAFT WAS GROUNDED: DURING DESCENT,  HYDRAULIC SYSTEM A FAILED, AN EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED AND THE AIRCRAFT LANDED SAFELY WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. REPLACED HYDRAULIC A SYSTEM ELECTRIC / MOTOR PUMP AND ACCOMPLISHED A SATISFACTORY LEAK / OPERATIONAL CHECK PER AMM 29-11-21.
