## Discrepancy

AIRCRAFT WAS NOT GROUNDED: FLIGHT DECK DOOR UPPER LATCH DOES NOT RETRACT WHEN USING THE HANDLE FROM INSIDE THE FLIGHT DECK. HAD TO USE THE UNLOCK FUNCTION ON THE FLIGHT DECK DOOR SWITCH ON THE CENTER PEDESTAL TO EXIT THE FLIGHT DECK. MAINTENANCE REPLACED THE DOOR LATCH MECHANISM AND ACCOMPLISHED A SATISFACTORY OPERATIONAL CHECK PER AMM 52-51-00.
