AIRCRAFT WAS NOT GROUNDED: AFTER REACHING CRUISE ELEC A/C BUS R1 EICAS APPEARED WITH PROMPTED MANY OTHER FAILURES ASSOCIATED WITH POWER LOSS. FLIGHT RETURNED TO LAX FOR MAINTENANCE. EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED AND AIRCRAFT WAS OVERWEIGHT FOR LANDING. MAINTENANCE REPLACED R1 VSFG REF MIC 9676615.
