## Discrepancy

AIRCRAFT WAS NOT GROUNDED: AN EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED AND THE AIRCRAFT DIVERTED TO ORD DUE TO THE FLIGHT CREW REPORTING THAT #1 ENGINE HAD EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. OIL QUANTITY STARTED AT 12.5 AND FELL TO 6.5. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED SAFELY AT ORD WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE FOUND THE #1 ENGINE OIL CAP LEAKING DUE TO DAMAGED O-RINGS AND REPLACED THE O-RINGS PER AMM 79-11-10. A SATISFACTORY LEAK / OPERATIONAL CHECK WAS ACCOMPLISHED.
