AIRCRAFT IN BASE MAINTENANCE: FOUND CORROSION ON THE FUSELAGE SKIN AT STA 894 ON STR 23L WITH MULTIPLE SKIN DEFECTIVE FASTENERS. INSTALLED FRAME 887 FAIL SAFE CHORD IAW B 737 SRM 51-40-02.  LOCATED AND DRILLED NEW STRINGER SECTION DIM 29 3/4" AND REPAIR SPLICE DIM 11 5/8" IAW B 737 SRM 53-00-03-2R PROCEDURE 1.
