DURING MAINTENANCE INSPECTION, FOUND NR 2 ENGINE OTBD PYLON PANEL MISSING, 446BR.  MAINTENANCE DEFERRED IAW CDL 54-53-2. PLACARDS INSTALLED. REDUCE TAKEOFF AND LANDING PERFORMANCE BY 600 LB. (272 KG) ENROUTE CLIMB BY 1400 LB. (635 KG) NO MX DEACTIVATION PROCEDURES REQUIRED.  REF LP 39216-56/1.  AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE.
