DURING PREFLIGHT CHECK, FOUND MAIN CARGO LOOP A2 INOP.  MAINTENANCE DEFERRED ITEM MBCB 03-15-26 IAW MEL 26-16-2-1.  REMOVED AND REPLACED SMOKE DETECTOR 2A IAW B767 AMM 26-14-01.  OPS CHECK GOOD.  A/C RETURNED TO SERVICE.
