CAPTAIN COMPASS INOP, RETURNED TO KMIA.  REMOVED AND REPLACED PICTORIAL DEVIATION INDICATOR IAW MM 34-00.  PERFORMED OPERATIONAL CHECK IAW 34-21-0, FOUND ALL SYSTEMS NORMAL.
