NR 1 ENGINE START VALVE STAYED OPEN AFTER START. QRH ACCOMPLISHED.   START VALVE OPEN EXTINGUISHED.  ACFT GROUNDED.  STARTED ENGINE MULTIPLE TIMES IAW AMM 71-00-00. OPS CHECKED NORMAL EACH TIME.
