THE CREW REPORTED ELECTRICAL SMOKE COMING FROM THE VS BUTTON OF THE FLIGHT GUIDANCE PANEL.  MX R & R THE FLIGHT GUIDANCE CONTROLLER, OPERATIONALLY TESTED WITH NO DEFECTS AND THE ACFT WAS APPROVED FOR RETURN TO SERVICE.
