CREW REPORTED SMOKE COMING FROM CAPTAIN`S CHART HOLDER LIGHT AREA. ACFT PERFORMED SAFE AND UNEVENTFUL AIR RETURN BACK TO DEPARTURE.  MX REMOVED AND REPLACED THE CAPTAIN'S CHART HOLDER ASSEMBLY WITH OPERATIONAL CHECK. A/C WAS APPROVED FOR RETURN TO SERVICE.
