## Discrepancy

ON CLIMB-OUT ATL-VLD, CREW SMELLED STRONG SMOKE ODOR. AN EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED AND FLIGHT RETURNED TO ATL, WHERE LANDING WAS MADE SAFELY AND PASSENGERS DEPLANED AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. ATL, MAINTENANCE COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE DISCREPANCY ON THE GROUND. ALL OPERATIONAL CHECKS WERE GOOD AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS RELEASED FOR FURTHER SERVICE. (M)
