FLIGHT 3009 - EWR - FLIGHT CREW REPORTED LAV SMOKE TEST INOPERATIVE.  EWR MX REMOVED AND REPLACED LAV SMOKE PANEL AND PERFORMED OPERATIONAL CHECK SUCCESSFULLY.  ACFT WAS APPROVED TO RETURN TO SERVICE.
