DURING CRUISE, AT FL 380, CAPTAIN WINDSHIELD CRACKED.  QRH PERFORMED AND AIRCRAFT LANDED AT NEXT SUITABLE AIRPORT.  WINDSHIELD INSPECTED AS PER AMM AND FOUND OUTER PANE SHATTERED.  WINDSHIELD REPLACED.
