(CAN) ON APPROACH, PILOT NOTICED NR 1 AC GENERATOR INOP LIGHT ON AND VOLTMETER INDICATED 0 VOLTS.  CIRCUIT METERED BACK THROUGH VOLTAGE REGULATOR AND FOUND OPEN FIELD.  GENERATOR REPLACED.
