AT FL 380 THE NR 1 ENGINE OVERHEAT LIGHT ILLUMINATED, DID NOT GO OUT WITH THRUST LEVER CLOSED.  RAN ENGINE FIRE, ENGINE SEVERE DAMAGE OR SEPARATION CHECK LIST.  SHUTDOWN THE NR 1 ENGINE.  DISCHARGE LEFT AND RIGHT EXTINGUISHER BOTTLES.
