FLIGHT 5172 - SLAT FAIL MESSAGE RECEIVED ON APPROACH.  DECLARED EMERGENCY, LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT.  FOUND LEFT NR 2 SLAT ACTUATOR TRIPPED.  RESET ACTUATOR.  NO FURTHER DEFECTS.
