RT FLT SPOILER MSG APPEARED ON APPROACH INTO JFK.  EMERGENCY DECLARED, ACFT LANDED SAFELY.  CORRECTIVE ACTION: RESET SPOILER SYSTEM PER CRJ FIM FAULT RESET.  NOR FURTHER DEFECTS NOTED.
