FUME- ON DESCENT INTO SLC FLIGHT CREW NOTICED STRONG DIRTY SOCK SMELL. DONNED O2 MASKS.   FOUND OIL CONTAMINATION AND POOLING UNDER LEFT ENGINE SPINNER. REPLACED FAN SHAFT COVER SEAL #1 ENGINE. (LP# 8472406; AIRCRAFT WAS GROUNDED)
