## Discrepancy

ON GEAR RETRACTION, AFTER TAKEOFF, CREW HEARD A LOUD BANG IN THE NOSE GEAR WELL AREA AND NOTED A RUBBER BURNING ODOR. AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO THE DEPARTURE AIRPORT AND LANDED SAFELY. MAINTENANCE PERFORMED SEVERAL GEAR SWINGS BUT COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE DISCREPANCY.
