NR 1 ENG STARTED COMPRESSOR STALLING 160 KTS DURING INITAL T/O AND CLIMBOUT.  ENG FAIL LIGHTS CYCLED ON/OFF.  AUTO PACK TRIP OCCURRED IMMEDIATELY.  REPLACED ENGINE.
