SMOKE AND FUMES IN COCKPIT COMING FROM UNDER F/O GLARESHIELD.  DIVERTED TO KIAH.  FOUND LOWER TERMINAL R-1 WINDOW BURNED AND BROKEN OFF.  REPLACED WINDSHIELD AND CONTROLLER.
