AFTER TAKEOFF RED AP PITCH TRIM FAIL LIGHT CAME ON AND AP KICKED OFF.  AIRCRAFT CHECKLIST COMPLETED AND LANDED AS SOON AS PRACTICAL.  ITEM IS UNDER INVESTIGATION.
