AFT AIRSTAIRS EMERGENCY EXIT LIGHTS DO NOT COME ON. (AIA NON-ROUTINE NR 35246).  REMOVED BATTERY FROM AFT AIRSTAIRS EMERGENCY EXIT LIGHTS.  SENT OUT FOR CHARGING.  REINSTALLED CHARGED BATTERY. OPERATIONAL CHECK CARRIED OUT SATISFACTORY.  AIRCRAFT WAS THEN RETURNED TO SERVICE.  (X)
