PILOT REPORTED ENGINE OIL TEMP AT RED LINE.  OAT WAS 20 DEGREES F.  RETURNED TO BASE. FOUND  VERNATHERM FACE NOT SEATING CORRECTLY.  FOUND UNEVEN WEAR ON OIL COOLER VERNATHERM SEAT.
