THE SUBJECT DISK HPT STAGE 1 FAILED NDT ULTRASONIC INSPECTION ON SURFACE SM AT POST NUMBER 54 (AS PER SP007), BETWEEN SLOT NUMBERS 16 & 17, DR 02338861 IS UNDER INVESTIGATION WITH THE OEM FOLLOWING UTI INDICATIONS DURING INCOMING INSPECTION.  PART RETIRED FROM SERVICE.  TO BE REPORTED I.A.W AMC 20-8A (J) ANY DEFECT IN A LIFE-CONTROLLED CRITICAL PART THAT CAUSES ITS RETIREMENT BEFORE THE COMPLETION OF ITS FULL-SERVICE LIFE.
