PDX- ON FLIGHT 2201 AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO FIELD DUE TO STANDBY ATTITUDE INDICATOR FAILED ON DEPARTURE.  REMOVED AND REPLACED INDICATOR.  OPERATIONAL CHECKS GOOD.  AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE.
