IRS FAIL MESSAGE IN CAT III APPROACH. ABORTED APPROACH AND DIVERTED FOR UNEVENTFUL LANDING.  NO FAULT FOUND INITALLY, BUT FOLLOW ON INSPECTION REPLACED THE IRU IAW TC 6343508.  RETURNED TO SERVICE.
