RAMP REPORTS FLAME FROM APU EXHAUST DURING START.  REMOVED FROM SERVICE.  OPENED APU COWLS, PERFORMED GVI OF APU, NO DEFECTS NOTED.  CLOSED COWLS AND STARTED APU, NO DEFECTS NOTED DURING START.  A/C OK FOR SERVICE.
