DIVERSION AT CRUISE, ALT FL360 A BURNING SMELL WAS DETECTED IN CABIN AND COCKPIT. EMERGENCY DESCENT WAS INITIATED SMOKE & FUMES CHECKLIST EXECUTED.  LT PACK WAS TURNED OFF AND FUMES DISSIPATED.  R & R TRANSFORMER IAW MM.
