FORWARD SERVICE DOOR SCUFF PLATE CRACKED.  REMOVED ALL THE COATINGS AND UNWANTED MATERIALS FROM THE SCUFF PLATE BEFORE WELDING IAW SRM 53-10-15-2R-2 STEP 4.B.(3). REFER TO SOPM 20-30-03.   WELDED DAMAGED AREA OF SCUFF PLATE.  PENETRANT INSPECT THE WELD AREA IAW SOPM 20-20-02. PT INSPECTED AREA IAW SOPM 20-20-02. CRACK FOUND BY NDI; REQUIRES REWELD. WELDED CRACKED AREA ON SCUFF PLATE AS NOTED BY NDI IAW SRM 53-10-15-2R-2 STEP 4.B.(4).
