ATTEMPT APU START AIRBORNE, RECEIVED APU FIRE MESSAGE AND AURAL, THEN FIRE FAIL (APU).  REMOVED AND REPLACED FIRE CONTROL UNIT IAW 26-00-00.  OPERATIONAL CHECK GOOD.
