LAX - DURING CLIMB, NR 3 ENGINE, S/N 4456 EXPERIENCED HIGH AVM.  ENGINE WAS SHUT DOWN.  INLET AND EXHAUST WERE CHECKED, CHIP DETECTORS CHECKED, AND GEARBOX WAS DRAINED AND SERVICED.  NO DEFECTS WERE NOTED.  ACCOMPLISHED TRIM BALANCED.  (M)
