CREW REPORTS EICAS STATUS MSG AFT CARGO HEAT INOP DET FAN 2 FWD. TEST SHOWS SMOKE DETECTOR FAN 2 LWR FWD OPEN OR SHORTED.  REPLACED FWD PIT SMOKE DETECTOR, GROUND TEST PASSED MESSAGE CLEARED.
