LEFT ENGINE STARTER EICAS MESSAGE DURING START.  17 PERCENT N2 AND WENT TO AUTO ON ENG SELECTOR PER CHECKLIST.   REPLACED LEFT ENGINE START VALVE PER AMM, OPS CHECKED GOOD.
