MODE CONTROL PANEL LANE 1 OF THE 2 LANES IN AUTOPILOT FLIGHT DIRECTOR SYS (AFDS) MODE CONTROL PANEL (MCP) OR ITS INTERFACE TO THE AFDC HAS FAILED.  REPLACED MCP IAW MM, OPS TESTED OK.
