ATTEMPTED APU START 2X FAILED, EICAS MESSAGE "APU FAULT".  PERFORMED BITE TEST ON APU ECU - FAULTED ECU.  REMOVED AND REPLACED APU CONTROL UNIT.  OPS CHECK OK PER AMM 49-61-05.
