APU FAILED TO START FIRST ATTEMPT AFTER LANDING.  785 EGT 29% RPM THEN SHUTDOWN AND "APU FAULT" MESSAGE.  SUCCESSFUL SECOND START ATTEMPT.  PERFORMED APU START PROCEDURE, OPS CHECK NORMAL, IAW AMM 49-11-00.
